While both of our locations were graciously spared the effects of Hurricane Ian, our counterparts on the other side of the state were not as fortunate. Having endured our fair share of natural disasters, our hearts go out to all those suffering from Ian’s devastation and wading through the aftermath. So, to help those affected, we have joined Big Storm Brewery’s effort in providing assistance and supplies to those who need it the most right now. We will be collecting donations at the Fort Pierce Taproom located at 3200 Saint Lucie Blvd in Fort Pierce, FL, and the Islamorada Taproom located at 82229 Overseas Highway Islamorada, FL to help Big Storm in its goal to support the clean-up and recovery efforts and provide supplies to residents, first responders, and linemen. All Floridians are called upon to act quickly to help deliver some relief for families and businesses that have been affected. Items needed are:
Garbage bags – Cleaning supplies such as brushes and sponges – Peroxide or anti-mold products – Bleach – Gloves (both surgical and yard/utility) – Plastic tubs – Gas cans – Bungee cords – Rakes – Yard tools – Tarps – Button cap roof nails – Chain saws – Blowers – Generators – Damp rid – Socks – Nonperishable foods such as canned tuna, peanut butter, and jellies (to help feed volunteers and recovery personnel) – Bottled water
Please do not bring items of clothing other than what’s listed above – it’s cleanup and recovery these communities will need help with first.

Hibiscus Gin, Dark Rum, & Crooked Palm® Win BIG At The USA Spirit Rating Competition
Crooked Palm (all flavors), Hibiscus Gin, and Dark Rum ALL received accolades from a panel of high-profile spirits industry judges at this year’s USA Spirit Rating Competition. Each entry scored highly in three different categories – Quality, Value, and Packaging – in order to take home a medal in the competition. Winning Gold, four Silvers, AND Bronze medals at theUSA Spirits Ratings Competition is not only an ultimate seal of approval but also shows that Islamorada Brewery & Distillery™ makes high-quality spirits with broad consumer appeal. One of the guiding principles of the USA Spirits Ratings competition is that all spirits that receive medals in the competition should be those that consumers actually want to buy, whether it is shopping for a spirit at a retail liquor store, or ordering a spirit off a bar menu. The judging panel included spirits industry professionals with commercial buying expertise. It also included professionals from leading retail chains, wholesalers, distributors, specialty retailers, and casual and fine dining establishments. The inclusion of many high-profile judges ensured that spirits that were awarded medals in competition were those with a high degree of commercial appeal.
Key Lime Hibiscus Ale Takes Home Bronze
at the USA Beer Rating Competition
In an incredibly competitive field at the 5th annual USA Beer Ratings competition in San Francisco, California, Key Lime Hibiscus Ale won a Bronze medal. All beers were judged on a 100-point scale by a panel of high-profile judges with the extensive commercial buying experience. In an innovative twist on traditional scoring at international beer competitions, the USA Beer Ratings used a three-factor scoring system that took into account factors beyond just brewing technique or overall taste. The total score was calculated based on three different scoring factors – Quality, Value, and Packaging. To win a USA Beer Ratings award you will need to score highly in all three areas of the judging criteria. Islamorada Brewery & Distillery’s Key Lime Hibiscus Ale is available at your local Winn Dixie Store.

Meet our Princeton-Educated, not-afraid-to-get-her-hands-dirty, do-what-it-takes to keep customers happy, Jill-of-many-trades, Miss. Larisa Baste. Since coming on board in the summer of 2016 to pour pints for guests, there’s truly nothing this girl hasn’t done at the company. She started working full-time at the Islamorada Taproom way back in 2018 where she helped with the distillery as well as behind the bar and was quickly given the spot as Islamorada Taproom Manager. She even took a turn promoting our spirits which is how she began experimenting with mixology…so make sure to thank her when enjoying one of our amazing hand-crafted cocktails! By 2021, she filled her days doing a little of everything as general manager of the Islamorada location; helping to organize, plan, strategize, and, yes, making her amazing cocktails when there’s a moment to spare. In her own words, “one of my proudest achievements is navigating the process of getting our top cocktails in kegs and on taps. It makes me so happy to see people enjoying our spirits and having a great time.” These days Larisa spends a great deal of time at the computer crunching numbers and projecting forecasts but her heart is always sitting in the beer garden, enjoying a nice cold Islamorada Beer.

Starting at 7 pm, all ghouls and goblins will endeavor to find their way out of the Escape Room…only the scariest and most clever creatures will find the way out! Partygoers can dance the night away with tunes from the DJ. Starting at 7 pm and going until midnight, this can’t-miss event only comes once a year so start planning your costumes!

Ale Mary
Halloween wouldn’t be complete without the spookiest of drinks…the Bloody Mary! Stop by and see us at our Islamorada taproom this October or try making this Ale Mary recipe at home. Start by rimming a pint glass with yummy bloody mary spices. Fill glass with ice and add in 4.5 oz bloody mary mix, 1.5 oz of Islamorada Vodka and 2 dashes of Worcestershire, and 2 dashes of Tabasco. Spice it up with smoked paprika, pepper, Old Bay, and other optional seasonings. Stir well, top with olives, pickles, or other fun ingredients and enjoy.
